Thoughts from the morning sermon — June 7, 2020

Text: Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. (Psalm 23:4, New King James Version)

He leads His sheep to green pastures through the valley of affliction. Fear no evil. He, the source of comfort is always with us, protecting with His Rod, guiding & keeping us with His Staff, The Rod and Staff of His providence[1] and of His Word. Accept His path,[1] hear His Word. Keep your eyes on the good Shepherd and He will bring you safely home.

[1] God’s works of providence are, His most holy, wise, and powerful preserving and governing all his creatures and all their actions. (question 11 of the Westminster Shorter Catechism)
